Exclusive Interview With Rising LA DJ Star Charly Jordan
Where are you from?
Las Vegas, Nevada
Tell us about your single ‘Yeah, No.’, how was the work on it, who were the people who contributed to the single and what is the story behind it
Blackstrap Molasses is a culmination of the first type of EDM music I fell in love with which is bass house, and the lyrics are based off a real-life story that I typed down in my notes one night out in LA. That story believe it or not was about blackstrap molasses. It can have different meanings depending on how you view the lyrics which I wanted to leave up to listeners! Very blessed to have such an amazing team and have so many talented friends that I’ve met throughout the past couple years that made this song possible.
After your breakthrough into the music industry, do you remember the moment you realized you were a rising star in the field
It still doesn’t feel real if I’m being honest. I just love music and want to continue to push myself to create music that I love that others can relate too in some way.
Who is the next artist you would like to collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with Kaskade!
Favorite moment from your career?
Playing my first festival was something I’ll never forget! Pal Norte in Monterrey Mexico 🇲🇽
Who were the people who influenced you the most from whom you were inspired?
my close friends who I grew up with mostly influenced me. My best friend from home is a producer and showed me how to dj and produce for the first time when I was 17! But as I started taking it more seriously I’d say 3lau and nghtmre are two people who really helped intro me into the music world!
What other things do you do besides making music
My full-time job outside of music is creatively directing, staring in, and posting travel videos/ festival videos from all over the world on my social media. I consistently work with major brands and events as a content creator/ model. I love working with tourism boards, quaint resorts in beautiful isolated locations, and charitable initiatives all over the world wherever they take me.
What excites you most about being a Singer and performing around the world
What’s most exciting about DJing is bringing people together over a feeling. To forget and just be one and feel. Music is a universal language that will forever blow me away.
What are your goals for the future?
My goals for the future is to continue to push myself to find ways we can unite as a community. Social media is such a unique bonding platform, along with festivals, art, and the ability to express ourselves through positive artistic outlets. To strive as a community and self to let experiences shape you in a positive way.
Please write a message to your fans.
I don’t know what I did to have the life I’ve been blessed with but all we can do is help and love one another and push each other to be better. I’m so excited to release more music and continue to put out creative ideas. I love you all!
