Exclusive Interview with pop-infused dance artist and a Previous mentor on The Voice Norway 'CLMD'

With singles released on labels such as Sony/Columbia, Ultra, Axtone, SIZE, Atlantic/Big Beat, and Armada/Trice, it is no wonder that CLMD has continued to grab the attention of the EDM industry.

Where are you from?

I’m from a beautiful island outside Oslo, Norway!

Tell us about the new single you released “Dance”, how was the work on it, who
were the people who contributed to the album and what is the story behind it?

I made “DANCE” with my good friends Skinny Days and Norwegian DJ and producer
Tungevaag. Tungevaag and I have talked about getting together for a while and finally
got the chance over the summer. We wanted to make a track you could really dance to,
and voila, “DANCE” was born.

Tell us the feeling as a mentor on the international program "The Voice" that you
decide on their future when you are a music artist yourself

I love mentoring, but it can be really hard as you sometimes need to be brutally honest. I
worked hard to get into the business myself, and I feel like you need to learn a few
lessons along the way to survive in music and build your career long term. So far I’ve only
had positive feedback on my mentoring, so hopefully, they’re not lying.

Favorite moment from your career?

“Black Eyes and Blue” being selected as the official after movie track of the Ultra festival
in 2012. That’s when I got that first rush of I made it. I also really enjoy looking back on
the tour I did with Steve Angello, for obvious reasons.

Who were the people who influenced you the most from whom you were inspired?

Royksopp really opened the doors for Nordic electronic acts and has always been an
inspiration of mine. Swedish House Mafia proved you could make it really big if you
worked hard enough.

What other things do you do besides making music?

I downhill ski a lot. If music didn’t come along, I probably would have continued to ski on
a national level, it’s my second passion.

What other things do you do besides making music?
I have a few hobbies, mainly making videos that make people laugh, but music is my everything at the moment.

Why did you start making music?

I started out as a DJ and progressed from that into making more and more elaborate
mixes and remixes, from there the leap into production was short. Anything for a stand
out DJ set, am I right?

Thank you for sticking with me through thick and thin, I hope you’ll love what’s to
come. You keep my dream alive, and I’m forever grateful <3
