Exclusive Interview with rising Latin star Erick Sanchez also known as "Wolf"

ERICK SANCHEZ

Erick Sanchez, also known as “Wolf”. I am a passionate Latin artist who is taking the time to focus on what I love, writing music.

Where are you from?

Well, I was born in the Dominican Republic but raised in the Bronx.

When did you start making music?

I started dabbling about a year ago. I’ve always loved making music, but I never had the confidence to step out and pursue it. I have found myself through my music though, it’s lit a spark in me.

How do you describe your music?

I like to actually connect with people's feelings through my lyrics. I want you to be able to close your eyes and picture everything I’m saying, even if you don’t understand it. My goal is to be able to capture your emotions with my melodies. Overall, my music is an emotional connection.

Who is your biggest musical inspiration?
Where to begin, I love to listen to so many artists. I listen to Miguel and The Weekend almost every day, and I’m also a huge fan of Maluma and Mac Miller. Miguel is one of my tops inspirations though, and I’m doing a song with him here soon.

What is your producing software?
My iPhone, lol just kidding. I don’t touch any software, I let my production team handle that
part, I’m not cool.

What other things do you do besides making music?
I have a few hobbies, mainly making videos that make people laugh, but music is my everything at the moment.

What is your best-producing tip?
Be you, write what you want, not what you think is trending or will go viral. I always say to be real to your pen. Stick with the music you love listening to and making.

Why did you start making music?
I went through a tough breakup, and the music was my way out. The writing was the only way for me to escape my reality. It was the best and most healthy way for me to move on and get back on my feet. I always love making medleys, so I let my situation fuel my first song, “Te Vi” ft. Coby Persin and the talented Max Luis.

What are your goals for the future?
I want to tour the world and want every man, woman, and child to hear my music. This sounds silly, but I want to motivate and inspire kids with my music. I want them to understand that it is okay to be in love, okay to be sad, okay to feel lonely, and that tomorrow will come and things will get better. I want each person who listens to my music know that they are enough.

What advice can you give the young music producers/DJs?
To keep going! Don’t stop, just enjoy and love the process. At first, you may think you’re not
seeing any progress or change, but remember that Rome was not built in one day.

To all my fans around the world, just know that I love you all. You guys are what keeps me
going. I promise to keep making music for you and remember that we are stronger together.
