Shambhala Music Festival- Festivals in Canada 2019
Written by Meghan Signora
Shambhala Music Festival is a true grassroots event. Celebrating its 22nd year, the festival began as a showcasing of local art and music and grew through word of mouth to become a staple for West Coast underground electronic music.
With no corporate sponsorship, Shambhala boasts six uniquely themed stages with individual stage directors. The Amphitheater Stage is the initial dance floor, surrounded by lush gardens on one side and vendors on the other. Fractal Forest is where funk lives. The Grove is an interactive wonderland celebrating music and dance in a natural setting with state of the art lighting design. The Living Room is a chilled-out, funked-out stage by the river. The Pagoda is a seven-story house full of the collective energy and love of the festies. The Village Stage is an immersive bass experience made up of weaving paths leading to a treehouse.
