Where are you from?
Tell us about your album ‘Flash’, how was the work on it, who were the people who contributed to the single and what is the story behind it?
The album is a collection of songs from the last year or so. It was a lot of fun working on it because it was so collaborative. I was able to get in the room with so many different writers and producers. A couple examples – “Tricky” I co-produced and co-wrote, and worked on it with Bram Inscore, Jake Torrey, Sam Farrar, and Sabrina Carpenter. “I Can’t Help” I wrote, Sarcastic Sounds produced it, and we sampled a cover of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. “Tricky” took a handful of sessions to finish and was a bit of a process, whereas for “I Can’t Help” I was able to cut the vocals in just a couple of hours.
After your breakthrough into the music industry, do you remember the moment you realized you were a rising star in the field
I remember when we started getting some traction, and that was around “Takes My Body Higher,” which was a single off my first wide release EP called conversations in the a.m. The song charted on the U.S. and global viral charts on Spotify, along with the Billboard Dance/Electronic chart. That was all pretty surreal, and it sort of kicked off everything.
Who is the next artist you would like to collaborate with?
Cyn – she has some awesome stuff!
Favorite moment from your career?
Playing Mercury Lounge in NYC. It was the first show of my first tour, and we sold it out. Seeing everyone so excited to be there, and singing along to my songs was amazing. I will never forget it!
Who were the people who influenced you the most from whom you were inspired?
What other things do you do besides making music
I’ve been playing golf since I was little. Played in tournaments for about 10 years.
What excites you most about being a Singer and performing around the world
Connecting with fans in person, and getting to share music with them. When you release music today, it goes out to a global audience instantly. So I really feel a connection with people from all over, and to play for them in person is very cool.
What are your goals for the future?
Continuing to build my platform and reach more people with my music online and in-person. Also want to focus on my label Otherground Records, and bring on other artists.
Please write a message to your fans.
Hope ya’ll are digging the new album, and can’t wait to see you at my shows when things get back to normal. Stay healthy and safe out there!
